For certain styles, such as eyelets, rings, tie tops, rod pockets, back tops, and tab tops, the effective width should be considered to be half of the actual width of the curtain panel. Although the curtain panel's actual width is 53 inches from top to bottom, one should only consider it as 25"–27"W inches. This is because folds need to be made towards the rod side to achieve a curtain-like appearance. For curtain styles like triple pleats, the width at the top would be 25"–27"W inches, while the bottom can be measured at 53 inches.

Note: The distance between two horizontal rods can vary between 8 inches and 12 inches, depending on the size of the panel.
